Santa Clarita man pleads bad to fraudulence in $655,000 COVID-19 financial assistance program
LOS ANGELES — A Santa Clarita people pleaded accountable Tuesday to a national fraud fee for obtaining $655,000 in Paycheck defense system financing by posting fake taxation paperwork and staff member ideas.
Raymond Magana, 39, pleaded bad, via Zoom, to just one matter of fraud relating to significant disaster or crisis positive, based on the U.S. Attorney’s workplace.
U.S. region Judge Stanley Blumenfeld Jr. put a May 11 sentencing hearing in l . a . national judge.
Magana admitted to utilizing scam to obtain $655,000 in PPP financing.
Final month, co-defendant Steven R. Goldstein, 36, of Northridge, pleaded accountable towards same charge. Blumenfeld planned a March 30 sentencing hearing for Goldstein.
Prosecutors say the defendants applied for above five different PPP business loans totaling significantly more than $2.5 million from numerous banking institutions.
The PPP loan plan premiered at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic and was created permitting company owners maintain employees on their payroll.
